Example Amendment

Here is an example of an amendment, such as one you bring with your delegation to the Model, using the template provided in the Blank Amendment Form tab:

PURPOSE, TO AMEND RESOLUTION (RESOLUTION TITLE)

SECTION I: (In an amendment you are either changing, striking from, or adding to, the wording of a resolution) If you are changing the wording of a certain section your amendment should begin with, “In paragraph (#), subsection (#), change, “Quote the sentence or words you intend to change”, to read as such, “state how you want the resolution to read.”

SECTION II: If you are striking words from a certain section of the resolution your amendment should begin with, “From paragraph (#) subsection (#) strike the words, “quote the words you wish to strike”.

SECTION III: If you are adding words to a certain section of the resolution, your amendment should begin with, “Paragraph (#) subsection (#), add, “state what you wish to add”, (now state where you want to add them) i.e. “after the word ‘and’ and before the word, ‘trading’. Or, “immediately preceding the paragraph” or, “immediately following the paragraph.”
