Welcome to 2019 Model UN at the College of Charleston!

Model UN is an annual simulation designed for students at the College of Charleston to practice the skills of international diplomacy, negotiation, and public speaking. During this 2-day event held on November 1-2, 2019 students will represent different countries and will have an opportunity to learn about the history, culture, politics, and economics of the country they choose to represent. This is a great opportunity to debate global issues and develop leadership skills.

What should you expect?

You need to do background research on the country you choose to represent and on issues (topics) discussed in your committee (Background guides will be available in late September). Each student will also be required to prepare a one-page position paper. Finally, students will meet for a General Assembly meeting in October for final debates. You can register for any country and represent it in one of the four committees. Keep in mind that registration is available on a first-come-first-serve basis. If some committee/country is not available, someone else may have already reserved it.
